General

What is Snowhaus?

Snowhaus is a ski and music festival by The Ski Society — 7 days and 6 nights in Gulmarg, one of the world's highest ski destinations, with slopes reaching up to 4,390m. Days are built around skiing and riding the Himalayas; nights bring music, culture, and community.

Who is Snowhaus for?

Anyone 18 and older with a pull toward snow, music, and community — whether you're strapping into a board for the first time or chasing backcountry lines. Toddlers aged 0–8 may attend free under full parental supervision; children aged 8–18 are not permitted.

What does a typical week look like?

Day 1 — Arrival & Community Welcome. Day 2 — The First Descent. Day 3 — Sundance. Day 4 — Kashmiri Après Ski. Day 5 — The Valley Night. Day 6 — Après Ski Finale. Day 7 — The Departure.

Tickets & Payment

What's included in my ticket?

Snowhaus is one all-inclusive General Admission (GA) package covering accommodation, lift passes, ski/snowboard lessons, gear rental, transfers, and full access to the entertainment programme — no separate add-ons needed.

Are there VIP or day-pass options?

No — Snowhaus is offered as a single all-inclusive GA package for the full 7-day, 6-night experience.

How do I pay?

Bookings are confirmed on receipt of full payment, charged in Indian Rupees (INR) at checkout.

What's the cancellation policy?

Cancellations made more than 60 days before the festival are eligible for a 70% refund; cancellations within 60 days are non-refundable. Full details are in our Terms & Conditions.

Travel to Gulmarg

What's the nearest airport?

Srinagar Airport (SXR) is the closest gateway, followed by a scenic mountain drive up to Gulmarg.

Are transfers included?

Yes — transfers between Srinagar and Gulmarg are included as part of your ticket.

Do I need any special permits to visit?

No special permit is required to visit Gulmarg. International guests need only a valid passport and Indian visa; domestic guests need standard government-issued ID.

Accommodation

Where will I be staying?

Your stay will be at Hilltop Hotel Gulmarg, our exclusive accommodation partner for Snowhaus 2027.

Can I choose my room?

Room allocation is based on availability at the time of booking, with a maximum of two adults per room.

What time is check-in?

Check-in takes place on arrival day (1 February); your exact check-in time and welcome details will be shared closer to the event.

On the Mountain

I've never skied or ridden before — can I still come?

Absolutely. Our 1-on-1 progression clinics, led by certified coaches, are designed for complete beginners to build confidence at their own pace.

What's on offer for advanced riders?

Guided backcountry tours on Mt. Apharwat, led by elite local guides through Gulmarg's legendary powder bowls and alpine lines.

Is equipment provided?

Yes — full access to premium ski and snowboard gear, boots, and safety equipment is included, tuned for Gulmarg's conditions.

What if I want an adventure off the slopes?

Snowmobiling safaris and guided winter treks through Gulmarg's pine forests are available for thrill-seekers and non-skiers alike.

Entertainment & Recovery

What's the music and nightlife like?

The Snowhaus Après Showcase brings a handpicked lineup of global electronic acts, homegrown Indian artists, and independents to a snow-packed dancefloor by day and late-night sets by the lodge fires after dark.

Is there anything beyond the parties?

Yes — alpine yoga and sound healing sessions to recover between days on the mountain, plus curated dining and cultural showcases blending festival energy with local Kashmiri heritage.

Entry & On-Site Info

How do I get my festival pass?

You'll receive a welcome kit, including your festival pass, upon arrival in Gulmarg.

Can I pay by card or UPI on-site?

UPI is accepted almost everywhere in Gulmarg, and cards are accepted at select locations. We'd still suggest keeping some cash on hand for smaller local vendors.

Is alcohol available?

Alcohol is served and sold in select designated areas within Hilltop Hotel Gulmarg and our Après venues.

Will I have phone signal and WiFi?

Yes — Gulmarg has reliable network connectivity, so you'll be able to stay in touch and share your trip as it happens.

Weather & Safety

What happens if snowfall affects lifts or backcountry tours?

Gulmarg's weather can shift quickly, and your safety always comes first. If lift access or backcountry tours are affected on a given day, we'll adjust the schedule toward on-mountain lessons, lodge-based activities, or entertainment programming, and keep you updated as early as possible.

Is Gulmarg safe to visit?

Gulmarg is one of India's best-established winter destinations, welcoming thousands of skiers and travellers every season for its world-class slopes.

Packing & Health

What should I pack?

Thermal base layers and a waterproof, insulated outer jacket and pants; warm gloves, wool socks, and a beanie; UV-protective sunglasses or ski goggles, and high-SPF sunscreen (altitude increases sun exposure); moisturiser/lip balm for dry mountain air, and any personal medication.

Will the altitude affect me?

Gulmarg's slopes reach up to 4,390m, and some guests feel the effects of altitude in the first day or two — light-headedness or shortness of breath is common and usually settles as you acclimatise. Stay hydrated, pace yourself on Day 1, and speak to your doctor before travelling if you have any pre-existing health conditions.

Eligibility & Policies

What's the age policy?

Snowhaus is open to adults 18+. Toddlers aged 0–8 may attend free under full parental supervision; children aged 8–18 are not permitted.

What's the conduct policy?

Snowhaus operates a zero-tolerance policy on disorderly conduct, illegal drug use, and harassment of any kind. Full details are available in our Terms & Conditions.
